Doodle Pantry Watermelon Ants with OWH Sketch #160

Welcome to April everybody!  Hooray!  April marks the beginning of the best months of the year to me.  The snow is GONE and the temperature is rising - I live in Michigan so anything above 40 degrees is a happy day for us! 
 
Today is New Release Day over at Doodle Pantry with 6 new digital sets being introduced and all are adorable.  My card(s) today feature the new Watermelon Ants set.  I have used the digitally colored version, of course, but the outline version is included in the set for those who enjoy the coloring.

 

 



 Aren't these ants adorable?  My personal favorite is the one at the bottom with his head stuck right into the watermelon, sheer joy.  The checkered paper is part of the set, along with two others, plus several sentiments and another colored version with yellow watermelon - you gotta see it!

The second card uses the OWH Sketch #160 shown below.  The top card just kind of evolved on it's own.

 I ended up making 15 cards like these for my Operation Write Home box - using all of the patterned paper that I had printed.  Not bad for a days worth of card making.  ;)

OWH Be A Rebel Challenge #3 - Food As Your Focal Image

Welcome OWH Card Makers!  Today is National Scrapbooking Day but we are playing the part of the Rebels and we are making CARDS, not scrapbooks, for our deployed heroes.  If you are new to Operation Write Home you can find out all about this wonderful organization by clicking the badge on the left side of this post.


My challenge today, for the Be a Rebel Virtual Card Makiing Party, is to make a card using FOOD AS YOUR FOCAL IMAGE.  It can be any kind of food....cupcakes, candy, ice cream, hotdogs, BBQ...even popsicles.

My card today was made using the adorable Doodle Pantry Popsicle Ants.  I used the colored versions and background papers that are included in the set but the outline images are also available in the set as well (great for paper piecing or coloring on your own.)  I accented the popsicle with Glossy Accents and it looks good enough to lick!  Here is a close up to show the shine a little better.

Of course this wonderful set comes with several other colors that I could not ignore....so I made a card for each color!  All will be included with my next OWH box.  Here is a photo of the others.
