S & S Sketch #26

Today's card is a continuation of my self imposed challenge to make a card using every S & S Sketch during 2012.  This card was inspired by Sketch #26 and has been paired with the Doodle Pantry Pirate Birdie Color Plus set.  I used the pre-colored version of this adorable birdie and layered him with the designer paper that is included in the set.  The hats on each side were cut out from the second designer paper that comes with the set and finished off with a layer of Glossy Accents.

Here is Sketch #26:

This card, along with several other Pirate Birdie cards, will be added to my Operation Write Home box that will be shipping before the end of the month.  Hopefully it will find it's way into some little boy's hands and heart.

Happy stamping and God's richest blessings,

Lisa

S&S Midweek Throwdown Challenge - Miss You And Sketch #109

This week on the Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps blog the MWT Challenge is to make a card using a 'Miss You' theme.  I chose to use my very favorite character from Doodle Pantry and paired him with the Stars & Stamps Sketch #109.  My crafting time has been very limited lately so I am always looking for ways to combine challenges and am actually surprised at how much this approach has helped me to focus and accomplish what I set out to do in the time I have to do it.  Amazing what goals will do isn't it?

The turtle is the digi set called "Turtle Trio" and is precolored, although he comes in the outline form as well for those of you who love your Copics!  The colors in this set match up with the Stampin' Up! cardstock Garden Green and Pumpkin Pie  I also used an SU! flower punch and a misc jewel brad from my stash.  Here is the sketch I used:

This card also qualifies for the monthly Doodle Pantry Blog Challenge that is always an 'Anything Goes' using a Doodle Pantry image and always rewards every participant with a free digi set.  It just doesn't get any better than that!  This month's set, Quirky Bunny, is adorable and is pre-colored (**sigh with a smile**)  There is still time for YOU to participate and get this adorable set to add to your digi library but keep in mind all entries must be posted by March 24th to received the free digi set.

Happy Stamping and God's Richest Blessings,

Lisa

S & S Midweek Throwdown & Sketch #108

The Midweek Throwdown on the Stars & Stamps blog this week is to use a digital image on your card...easy peasy lemon squeezy!  I love using the precolored images from Doodle Pantry so I naturally turned to my DP digital stash (hey, I think I just coined a whole new phrase there!) The image is from the set called  Balloon Ants COLOR Plus and is available here.  I love the matching polka dot background paper that comes with this set and get this.....it also comes in red, pink, green, and yellow.  Can you believe that?!  What a bargain!  Just for fun I have posted pics, at the bottom this post, of the other cards I made with this set for my Operation Write Home box...I was on a roll!

As many of you know I have also embarked on a personal challenge to use all of the previous S & S sketches during 2012 and I have had this adorable image in mind since the first time I saw Sketch #108.  So... I guess there are just some times when "the planets align" and everything just comes together!  Here is the sketch I used for inspiration:

And here are the other cards I made in the same sitting.  I changed up the sketch because I wanted to use the words (also included with the set) and it seemed to crowded to me with sketch #108 plus the words.

These cards also qualify for the monthly blog challenge by Doodle Pantry in which they give away a FREE digi set just for participating - the only requirement is that you use a Doodle Pantry Digital image on your card.  Don't have any?  No problem....they have plenty of FREE images to chose from.  For more info, or to enter, visit the Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge.  Don't procrastinate, the deadline is March 24th.

Happy Stamping and God's richest blessings,

Lisa

S & S Sketch #2

Hooray!  Another S & S Sketch marked off my list...and I LOVE the result!  Not sure how this pic shows up on your computer but the true colors are Lovely Lilac and Certainly Celery (Stampin' Up!)  The stamp set is called Watercolor Garden II and is also Stampin' Up.  The strip down the side is NOT designer paper....yes, I actually stamped it myself and then ran it through my Cuttlebug for texture.  The grosgrain ribbon is Certainly Celery as well.  Did you notice the envelope?  I like to decorate my envies whenever possible and this one turned out beautifully.  I made 6 of these for my Operation Write Home box.

Here is the sketch I used:

Doodle Pantry Easter Birdie

Today is a very exciting day for me....this is my very first post as a design team member - and I can't think of a better team to be on than the Doodle Pantry Digital Doodles Design Team!  I am honored to have been selected and am already having a wonderful experience.  Thank you Laurie Wilson and the other DPDT members for being so helpful and welcoming.

This card was made using the pre-colored Doodle Pantry set named Easter Birdie.  It is a brand new set, just released today, and I love it!  The DP birdies are soooo cute!  One of the many things I like about Doodle Pantry pre-colored sets is that Laurie includes matching background papers making it really easy to put a card together without wasting time sorting through my stash.  Another feature, whether intentional or not, is that they almost always match my Stampin' Up! card stock (bonus!).

For those of you who are new to my blog I welcome you and encourage you to leave me some feedback or ask any questions that you may have at the end of this post.  As you can tell by my sidebar I am an avid contributor to Operation Write Home and the majority of my cards are sent there for distribution to our troops stationed overseas.  If this is the first you have heard of them (OWH) I encourage you to take a few minutes to visit their website and check out this wonderful organization.

Happy Stamping and God's blessings,

Lisa
