One of my biggest challenges as a card maker is coloring...I think I honestly just don't have the patience for it. Besides, my BFF (and favorite stamping buddy) is awesome at watercoloring and she LOVES it so why not just let her do it for me? Hey, what a great idea!!!
Lucy watercolored this adorable Doodle Pantry image, aptly called "Gummy Worms," (which is a new FREEBIE by the way!) using Stampin' Up! Watercolor Crayons and Pencils in various shades. The background paper is included in the set and is layered with Stampin' Up! Brilliant Blue and accented with Daffodil Delight that I dry embossed with my Cuttlebug. I love a good pun and this one certainly fits the bill.
For this card I used the S & S Sketch #44 for inspiration. The best thing about using digital stamps is the ability to adjust the image size to exactly what I need - so picking a sketch first is a big help in getting the mojo flowing. Here is the sketch:
These adorable little gummies also meet this week's Midweek Throwdown - Sweet Summertime and this card has been added to my Operation Write Home box that will be shipped out in the next few days. It is unusual for me to send a single version of a card but this one is the only one of it's kind!

ReplyDeleteI'm with you Lisa, I'm not much of a colorer either, I'm just no good at it. Besides, it takes up way too much time. Lucy did a marvelous job watercoloring these worms. It's fabulous!! Love the sketch.

ReplyDeleteLisa, what a wonderful card! Coloring isn't my favorite pass time either but I've decided that it's something I can take on trips and color things haead of time. So I print a bunch of digis and color them at times when I can't be on the computer or I don;t have all my creating stuff. Lucy did a wonderful job at coloring this beauty!
