OWH Midweek Throwdown - Cards 4 Kids

Today was a wonderful day in the Oliver household - a SNOW DAY!  Which means I get to STAMP and that makes me very happy!  I firmly believe that when an unexpected day off work comes along that we should spend the day doing the things we wish we were doing everyday while we are doing the things that we have to be doing.  Don't you?

Today's card share is a card inspired by this week's Midweek Throwdown for Operation Write Home to make "Cards 4 Kids"   I personally love to make cards for kids because I can't help but imagine the smiles on the little faces as they open and enjoy a card written just for them by their very own hero who is stationed so very far away.

Can you believe how cute that little birdie is?!?  Who wouldn't smile at that?  I used the digitally colored image from Doodle Pantry's newly released set called Baseball Birdie, and of course I couldn't make just one...

or even two....six of these cuties fit on my printed piece of card stock so of course they all needed a home!

So in my Operation Write Home box they go...and then off to The Sandbox (aka Afghanistan) then back to the US to share some love on someone's special day.  And that is what it is all about.

Happy Stamping and God's Richest Blessings,

  2. I love Doodle Pantry birdie and these made some cute kids' birthday cards. I actually find it difficult to make kids' cards without thinking, "I'm going to sit down and make kids' cards." Weird, huh? I'm still working on my goal to make 20 kids' cards to honor the angels of Sandy Hook Elementary!

  3. These are great Lisa! I like that while they are baseball theme, because they are birds it makes them good for either gender. I really enjoy making cards for the kids too and include some in every package I send to OWH. So glad that you're enjoying your snow day too! :)
